Grades K-3 Distance Learning
Option #1: Salsa episodes
Georgia Public Broadcasting has an award-winning Spanish language series called Salsa for young learners in kindergarten through third grade. It is a series of episodes entirely in Spanish. Children learn through puppets in familiar stories, digital graphics, and animation. More info about Salsa can be found here. https://www.gpb.org/salsa
The 15-minute Salsa episodes are available for free online at this link: https://www.gpb.org/salsa/term/episode
You can also click the button below to be directed to the episodes.
Grades K, Grade 1, and Mrs. Andrew's class have already watched the first two episodes in class.
Grade 2 have already watched the first episode in class.
Mrs. Malek's class has not watched any episodes yet.

Option #2: Have them teach you what they've learned so far.
Below are the words that each grade level has learned so far this year. You could say the word in Spanish and have your child tell you the English meaning. You could also re-watch song/videos that we have already watched together in class.
Grades K-2
Grades K-2 are following a new curriculum this year. They have learned the two units below so far.

Grades 3-6
Option #1: Review & read together
Grades 3-6 are also following a new curriculum this year. You could review the vocabulary they have learned so far by saying the Spanish word and having them tell you the English meaning.
Also, several of the stories we have read together are linked below (black buttons), as well as related videos. Encourage your child to read the stories to you in Spanish and tell you the English meaning of some of the words. Stories are in order of difficulty, starting easier and getting harder.
IMPORTANT: Students will vary A LOT in their ability to read out loud in Spanish- especially the third graders, who are still very much learning to read in English! Please celebrate ANYTHING your child can do. If YOU happen to know some Spanish, you could even read the stories aloud in Spanish and have your child explain the English meaning.
